1) Start young (if you can)
If you have a puppy or kitten, casually touch and rub around the ears so handling feels normal. With older pets, make ear care positive—treats before and after help a lot.
2) Get everything ready—and stay calm
Have nearby: Win4Pet® Ear Drops, soft cotton pads/moist cloth, and a few treats. Remove rings/bracelets and check nails. Approach calmly, scratch behind the ears, and speak softly.
3) Need backup? Ask a friend
Some pets wiggle. Ask someone to gently steady your pet while you apply the drops. A non-slip mat also helps.
4) Clean first
Before using drops, wipe away visible dirt or wax at the ear opening with a moist cloth or cotton pad. (Don’t push swabs down the canal.) If you notice small scrapes on the pinna, a wound gel can help protect the area.
5) Drop, massage, and let them shake
Tilt the bottle and add the amount directed on the label (often about 10–20 drops for dogs; less for cats). Gently massage the base of the ear for 20–30 seconds so the liquid spreads.
Let your pet shake—that helps loosen debris. Wipe away any residue with a cloth.
Tip: If the bottle angle is tricky, soak a cotton ball with drops and squeeze it at the ear opening.
6) For sensitive ears
Use body-temperature drops (hold the bottle in your hand for a minute). If your pet still seems uncomfortable, pause and try again later. Follow product directions; don’t dilute unless the label or your vet advises it.
7) Let them shake it out
A good shake afterwards is normal and useful—maybe just don’t stand by a white wall!
